Tips To Play Good Tennis
Tennis playing tip #1
When you start your warm up before the match you first need to get used to the conditions and your feel and form for that day. It's not realistic to expect that you'll be feeling superbly well every day.
So check the conditions - windy, sunny, hot or something else and adapt your shots and tactics accordingly. Then check your feel for the ball and racquet, your general mood and look to improve on them.
Tennis playing tip #2
When you start the match you furthermore need to get used to your opponent's play. Most of the players don't play the same in the warm up as they do in the match. So you are very likely to see and feel new speeds and spins of the ball.
Don't panic if you can't adapt in the first minute. Your brain is getting the information, unless you're too emotional. Remember previous matches, how you found your timing on returns or volleys or whatever caused problems at first.
Just watch the ball well and notice what is happening - are you late, too far, is the ball too high and then gradually adapt. Don't force it - it will happen if you are relaxed.
Tennis playing tip #3
The most important shots which define how the point will be played are the serve and the return. If you have a weak serve and return, then you'll be on defense the whole point.
A good serving tip is to first find your serve. Don't blast your first serves in the match at your full power. Start at 75%, then increase the speed and see where is the best feeling and percentage of shots.
The same rule applies to returns - start with medium paced returns down the middle and then add speed and placement when the match progresses. The main goal of the return on the first serve is to get it back deep down the middle and on the second serve to make your opponent run - so preferably a cross court return.
Tennis playing tip #4
The game is obviously based on forehands and backhands - hence "groundstrokes". You need to find them also when you start the match. Start with long cross courts 2-5 feet over the net and aim 5 feet from both side and baseline.
When you find good length, start utilizing short cross court and down the lines shots to make your opponent run.
Tennis playing tip #5
The same principle applies to volleys and overheads. It may take you 10 or 20 minutes before you play your first volley or overhead, so don't expect a perfect shot. Or maybe you can expect it but don't get too upset if it doesn't happen.
Actually if you often play at the net you're maybe aware of this fact: you need to develop the feel and timing for your volleys too. You might play a couple of poor volleys or overheads first but don't let that discourage you.

How To Break A Losing Streak?
- Once you know your own style, start watching some professional tennis on TV or in person. This is not necessary but it can be a very helpful step. Look at where the pros hit and the tactics they use. Obviously you won't be able to use the same plays to perfection but it can put some ideas in your head.
- 3Next, sign up for a tournament! Be sure to practice every day leading up to it, possibly at the same courts that the tournament will be played on.
- 4Now your actual match has begun. Use the warm-up wisely!! Test all of the opponents strokes (forehand, backhand, volleys). Hit some balls up the middle and see which stroke they choose to hit. This can tell you what their favorite shot is, so keep in mind that it is probably their strength.
- 5If you win the toss, choose to receive first, unless your serve is particularly strong. This will give you a chance to play some points without the added pressure of trying to hold serve.
- 6Be consistent. Even if your style is an aggressor, don't go for a knockout winner on every shot. You can easily donate the match to your opponent before you know it. Use topspin to hit deep and set up points, always directing balls to your opponent's weakness if possible. Chances are they will miss if you get enough balls back so don't always try to be like Roddick.
- 7If you're down in the score, try some new things. Use your head at all times!!! Start using some low slices, try to approach the net, hit serves wider, etc. Add variety and never stick with a strategy that has you losing
- Use these tips and win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dealing With Emotions
Have you ever lost a match and wondered later why you played the way you did?
A missed »easy« ball, a double fault or bad line call upset you so much that you lost your composure and concentration. What happened was that you allowed your emotions to influence you. You were unable to think rationally.
Or maybe you have been a victim of over thinking during critical parts of a match?
Whenever you had the opportunity to finish the set or the match or to finally get that break of serve, your mind started running all those negative scenarios which eventually became reality.Well dont let your emotions control you think of how good you are instead.
Foods To Eat Before And During A Tennis Match
Day before: Spaghetti, Roll, Salad
Day of: Sandwich, green beans, apple
Right before: Banana and Gatorade If you have a Question post it in the comments section.
Not just tennis players. but all sports stars eat a lot of carbs especially before they compete, things like potato, pasta, rice contain a lot of carbs so they can work them off and get energy, Pasta is a very common meal to have before a tennis match if your going to eat anything and also a banana.

fitness is very important for stars like top players or beginners. So I always warm up before matches and remember always do stretches after your tennis training!!!!! stretches are important to have a good recovery.
